Notre Dame Football Midweek Mailbag: Matt Luke Edition

Irish Breakdown's IB Nation Sports Talk answers listener questions on today's show, including the latest with the Notre Dame offensive line search

Irish Breakdown discusses several Notre Dame football and basketball topics, starting with Notre Dame interviewing former Georgia coach Matt Luke for its vacant offensive line coach position. Other topics include:

* Luke retired for a year after helping Georgia win a national championship in 2021. How concerned should we be about him possibly retiring again if he takes the job?

* Should Notre Dame want an offensive line coach with NFL experience?

* Thoughts on ND women's basketball being ranked No. 10.

*Who is Notre Dame's quarterback after Sam Hartman next year?

* Are Notre Dame coaches process or outcome driven?

* How did the offensive coordinator debacle impact Irish recruiting for the 2024 class?

* Has Notre Dame lost recruiting traction in Chicago?

* Who will be Mike Brey's replacement?

* How Tommy Rees's departure hasn't impacted Irish recruiting.

* Clock change proposals for college football.

* Notre Dame's place in the future College Football Playoff.

We also have Rapid Fire topics. The full list of topics is below.

Rapid Fire starts with an over/under touchdown and interception prediction for Sam Hartman this season. Other topics include:

* Notre Dame offensive coordinator Gerad Parker's time at West Virginia and what it says that his successor, Graham Harrell, only spent one season there before leaving to coach at Purdue.

* Fill-in the blank...Mike Brey’s last home game as Notre Dame’s head coach will be next week when the Irish host Pittsburgh....and it’s BLANK that Notre Dame is currently selling tickets at 2 for $10 in the upper bowl and 2 for $20 in the lower bowl.

* ESPN college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla had an interesting recent Tweet. He said “Given how well the covid 5th year of eligibility worked out for college basketball...let’s award players who graduate in four years and extra season. It makes sport stronger...insures higher graduation rates and post graduate opportunities and combats the one and done teams with NIL cash.” Do you Buy or Sell Fraschilla’s idea?

* Instant replay during XFL games is handled differently than NFL or college football games. During the XFL broadcast....they have a camera in the replay booth with the replay official mic’d up so you can see and hear what they’re looking at. Do you Buy or Sell the NFL and/or college doing the same?

* A report from Andrew Marchand of the NY Post says Apple TV+ has emerged as a potential landing spot for Pac 12 football TV rights. Would being exclusively on a streaming service be better for the Pac 12 or Apple?

* If we could be one famous "Knight" which knight would it be?
