It's official, Notre Dame has signed transfer safety Jordan Clark, who spent the last five seasons at Arizona State.

A multi-year starter for the Sun Devils, Clark brings a strong background to the Notre Dame defense. He racked up 139 career tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 17 pass break ups and three interceptions in his career in Tempe. As a senior in 2023, Clark had a career-high 50 tackles and 9 pass break ups. He picked off a career-high two passes and a career-high three tackles for loss in 2022.

Clark played mostly in the slot for Arizona State and its the position he'll likely play at Notre Dame as well. While playing that position with the Sun Devils he would occasionally roll to the deeper safety spots, but he's been a slot defender for much of his tenure.

Landing Clark marks the second straight offseason that Notre Dame is going to the portal in hopes of landing a nickel/slot defender. Notre Dame landed former Oklahoma State cover man Thomas Harper to play the position in 2023, and Harper was a quality player on an Irish defense that was one of the nation's best.

Notre Dame is likely going to lose a lot of veterans from its defense in 2024, including Harper, so landing Clark not only helps the loss of Harper at the slot, it also gives a veteran player that has produced at the Power 5 level. Clark is listed at 5-10 and 185 pounds, but he's an instinctive player that moves well in space. He's also a willing hitter in the slot, which is something that is important for that position.

Clark is the son of former Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins safety Ryan Clark.
