Offensive Tackle Will Black Commits To Notre Dame
Notre Dame has added another talented piece to its already loaded 2025 recruiting class with Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall offensive tackle Will Black pledging to the Irish. Notre Dame beat Alabama, Michigan and Penn State to land Black's commitment.
The 6-7, 295-pound offensive tackle first made a strong impression this summer when he was a standout at the team's lineman camp. That prompted the Notre Dame coaching staff to immediately offer him a scholarship. Notre Dame battled with several programs over the next several months, but in the end the Irish staff was able to win this recruitment.
Black is a still developing prospect, but his junior season was outstanding. He went from a skinny prospect with potential as a sophomore to an almost 300-pound dominant player as a junior.
The offer list for Black has really blown up since the summer began. He now holds offers from the Fighting Irish, Alabama, Michigan, Florida State, Penn State, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), Texas A&M, Florida, Nebraska, South Carolina, Stanford, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Kansas, Maryland, Rutgers and Syracuse.
Black grades out as a four-star prospect on the Irish Breakdown board, although his game still has plenty of room for growth. He is also ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 202 overall player in the country according to On3. He also grades out as the No. 14 offensive tackle in the class.
Black is the 11th player to commit to Notre Dame in the 2025 class. He joins elite quarterback Deuce Knight, running backs Daniel Anderson and Justin Thurman, tight end James Flanigan, defensive ends CJ May and Joseph Reiff, defensive tackle Davion Dixon, linebacker Dominik Hulak, cornerback Cree Thomas and safety Ivan Taylor.
