Upon Further Review: Breaking Down Notre Dame's Win Over Navy
Notre Dame was impressive in its 42-3 victory over Navy. Irish Breakdown gave instant analysis of the game, but we always like to dive into the film and take a deeper look. We did that in our Upon Further Review breakdown that put a bow on the victory.
UPON FURTHER REVIEW
Notre Dame had to find a way to beat the Navy pressure packages that were so damaging in the second half of last season's win over the Midshipmen. To kick off the show we dove into what Notre Dame did that was so effective against the Navy pressures.
We also talked about the Irish ground game and what we saw from the wide receivers, among other offensive topics.
Defensively we discussed the play of the defensive tackles, the play of the safeties, second half adjustments that were impactful in the Fighting Irish victory. There were some mistakes that we missed in the initial breakdown, which we point out, but remain very pleased with the strong performance of the Irish defense, and the game plan that led to that success.
