Notre Dame has once again dipped into the transfer portal in its search to rebuild the wide receiver room, this time landing wide receiver Beaux Collins. The former Clemson pass catcher joins Kris Mitchell (Florida International) as wide receiver commitments in the portal class.

Collins spent the last three seasons as a starter for the Tigers, earning 27 career starts in 32 games played. A true junior, Collins caught 91 passes for 1,290 yards, 14.2 yards per catch and 11 touchdowns.

A former Top 100 recruit, Collins made his presence felt in year one for the Tigers. He caught just three passes in the first five games of his career, but he finished strong as a rookie, hauling in 31 passes for 407 yards and three scores. His 31 catches was second on the team, and his top performances came against Louisville (6 catches, 104 yards) and Wake Forest (4 catches, 137 yards).

He started off well in 2022, catching 18 passes for 290 yards in the first six games, scoring five touchdowns during that stretch as well. Injuries cost him most of the second half of the season, but Collins still tied for the team lead in touchdown catches.

This past season Collins had career bests in catches (38) and receiving yards (510). That included three catches for 37 yards against Notre Dame.

Adding Collins gives the Irish much-needed depth and experience at wide receiver. Collins is listed at 6-3 and 210 pounds, so he adds much needed size to the boundary position in the Irish offense. He is also a perfect complement to Mitchell, who is more of a Z receiver. Notre Dame's current roster is also filled with a lot of players who are best suited for the slot or field outside positions, so adding Collins to go with Deion Colzie gives the Irish a pair of big-bodied outside receivers.

Collins was ranked as the nation's No. 48 overall player and No. 4 wide receiver in the 2021 class according to ESPN. Rivals ranked him as the nation's No. 62 overall player and No. 3 player from California in the class.
