Wide Receivers Coach Chansi Stuckey To Stay At Notre Dame

Wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey will stay at Notre Dame after being courted by the Baltimore Ravens

Irish Breakdown has learned that wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey will remain at Notre Dame after being courted by the Baltimore Ravens. Several National Football League teams have pursued multiple Notre Dame coaches, including Stuckey, who will stay on board with Marcus Freeman for next season.

Stuckey interviewed with the Ravens this weekend but quickly decided to remain with the Fighting Irish.

The Georgia native came to Notre Dame as a question mark due to having just one season of coaching experience, which came in 2021 at Baylor. The former Clemson and NFL wide receiver shined in his one season with the Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame's production at wide receiver was disappointing this season, but that was due mainly to poor quarterback play and injuries. The unit came into the season inexperienced and short on numbers, and the coaching they received in previous seasons was subpar, so Stuckey had a lot of work to do.

Breaking down the film, you could see the Notre Dame wideouts getting better and better each week. By the end of the season you saw players like Jayden Thomas and Deion Colzie start to emerge as weapons. The blocking from the group also shined later in the season as Stuckey's unit embraced that role as Notre Dame transitioned into a heavy running team.

Taking his group to a much higher level is Stuckey's task on the field in 2023, and if he can build on the foundation he established last season the Irish wideouts could be a strength of the offense in 2023.

Stuckey also made a significant impact on the recruiting trail in his first year with the Fighting Irish. He landed a talented four-man haul in the 2023 class, including three players from Texas (Braylon James, Jaden Greathouse, Kaleb Smith) and another standout from California (Rico Flores Jr.). Stuckey has also made an early splash in the 2024 class, landing Illinois star Cam Williams.
