Notre Dame's 2025 class remains red hot as the Irish have landed another talented player by landing a commitment from Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep cornerback Cree Thomas

Thomas is a 6-1, 180-pound defensive back that played both cornerback and safety for Brophy Prep. The Irish are recruiting him as a cornerback, but Thomas thrived as a safety this season out of need. Thomas is a long, rangy, athletic defensive back with excellent instincts.

Notre Dame has been hot on the trail for Thomas for about a year, making him an early priority in the class. Corners coach Mike Mickens built a strong bond with Thomas, and the Irish staff made it clear to him he's a top target, and not just because he was a high school teammate of current star Benjamin Morrison. Thomas has been a frequent visitor at Notre Dame, including making a pair of game visits in October.

A consensus three-star recruit from the national services, Thomas earned a 4.0-star grade on the Irish Breakdown board and grades out as a Top 150 overall caliber prospect.

The Brophy Prep star is the ninth player to commit to Notre Dame in the 2025 class, and he's the fifth defensive player.

Thomas joins a strong defensive class in 2025 that already has defensive tackle Davion Dixon, defensive ends CJ May and Joseph Reiff, and linebacker/edge hybrid Dominik Hulak. The Irish also have offensive commitments from star quarterback Deuce Knight, running backs Justin Thurman and Daniel Anderson, and talented tight end James Flanigan.

Thomas earned scholarship offers from Oregon, Wisconsin, Arizona, Arizona State, California, Boston College and Purdue.
