Notre Dame remains hot on the 2025 recruiting trail, landing a commitment from Elmhurst (Ill.) York Community defensive end Joseph Reiff. The 6-5, 230-pound defender pledged to the Irish after his visit this weekend for the matchup against Ohio State.

Reiff camped at Notre Dame this summer and impressed the Fighting Irish staff. The staff has continued to build a connection with him ever since, and that led to him eventually landing in the Notre Dame class.

The York Community standout is off to a great start in his junior season. In just four games, Reiff has racked up 16 tackles, including six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. York won its fifth game of the season on Friday night and they are off to a 5-0 start to the season.

His junior film is impressive, with his game taking a big leap. Reiff projects as a big end in the Notre Dame defense, and his combination of size, power and motor jump out on film.

Reiff also earned offers from Iowa, Purdue, Cincinnati, Louisville and Northwestern.

Reiff is the third defensive lineman to commit to Notre Dame in the 2025 class, joining Florida defensive tackle Davion Dixon and Alabama defensive end CJ May. Reiff and May both committed to Notre Dame after visiting during the game against Ohio State. Notre Dame also landed a commitment this weekend from Arkansas running back Daniel Anderson.

The Irish currently have six players committed in the 2025 class, with the four players mentioned above as well as big time quarterback Deuce Knight and speedy Florida running back Justin Thurman.
