Notre Dame remained hot on the recruiting trail by landing a commitment from West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Guerby Lambert. This is one of the biggest pickups for Notre Dame in the 2024 class, with Lambert being one of the best offensive linemen in the country.

Notre Dame always looks to land strong offensive line classes, and it did so in the 2023 haul as well. The priority in the 2024 class, however, was offensive tackles. Notre Dame needed a big year at tackle, and Lambert was long considered the top tackle on the board for the Fighting Irish staff. The 6-7, 290-pound tackle was a must-get prospect, so landing him is a home run for Notre Dame by giving them not only a top talent, but one at a top position of need in the class.

It's the first big-time pickup for first-year offensive line coach Joe Rudolph. The Irish received strong pickups from Styles Prescod and Anthonie Knapp during Rudolph's tenure, but Lambert is a Top 50 recruit and the kind of big-name player that gives Rudolph some recruiting clout.

Lambert joins a talented line class that already included Prescod, Knapp and Pennsylvania guard Peter Jones, who was the first talented blocker to join the Irish 2024 line class. Knapp and Jones project as interior players, while Lambert and Prescod project as tackles.

Lambert is ranked as the nation's No. 28 overall player and the No. 4 offensive tackle according to On3. He is also ranked as the nation's No. 59 overall player according to ESPN and No. 63 by Rivals. Each outlet has Lambert ranked as the top player from Massachusetts and the No. 4 tackle.

The talented offensive tackle earned offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Florida State, Michigan, LSU, Florida, Penn State, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), Wisconsin, Auburn, South Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Michigan State, Stanford and Boston College.

Landing Lambert gives Notre Dame a second straight talented player from Catholic Memorial. Notre Dame signed defensive end Boubacar Traore in the 2023 class.
