Notre Dame needed offensive tackles in the 2024 class and it landed one of the best in the Midwest when in-state standout Styles Prescod committed to the Fighting Irish. There is a lot to like about Prescod's game, and he's just scratching the surface of his potential.

Here is Irish Breakdown's commit profile for Prescod:

FILM ANALYSIS

Whether or not he projects best at left or right tackle will be determined by his technical development and the depth chart need when he's ready to compete for a job. There is no question in my mind, however, that Prescod projects as a natural tackle in the Notre Dame offense due to his potential in the pass game and ability as a drive blocker in the run game.

Prescod is listed at 6-6 and 270 pounds. I'm not sure if he's all of 6-6, but I like the length and frame he brings to the game. There is plenty of room for him to add muscle and really good weight, and I see him being an easy 300+ pound edge player. The length he possesses for the edge is also easy to see.

Right now his game is at its best when he can be physical and play with power. Although he'll need a lot of technical work and weight room work, Prescod shows an impressive natural punch and the ability to drive defenders off the ball. As he becomes stronger and learns to play with better pad level, use his hands better and works his feet through contact he should develop into a powerful edge blocker in the run game.

Prescod tends to be a waste bender, but that's a technical issue much more so than an athletic problem. Prescod is a quality athlete that moves very well in space when his technique is right. He gets into his pass sets with ease, he shows range on the edge and he has the length/punch needed to thrive in space.

NOTRE DAME FIT

Notre Dame needs pure tackles in the 2024 class and Prescod gives the Irish that kind of player. His combination of length and athleticism is ideally suited for the edge of the offense, and he shows the natural tools to play left tackle as well. Despite being technically raw, Williams shows a good feel for the game. As the technical parts of his game improve this will become an even greater strength and he should be able to strive on the edge.
