Notre Dame Offers Big Time 2025 IMG Linebacker Gavin Nix
Notre Dame is pursuing a number of talented linebackers in the 2025 class, and that board expanded tonight as the Fighting Irish offered Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy's Gavin Nix.
After playing his freshman season at Orlando (Fla.) Lake Highland, Nix transferred to IMG as a sophomore. He's 6-1 and is listed anywhere from 215 to 226. Nix is already well built for such a young player, and he plays with impressive power for such a young athlete. Nix lacks great height, but his length is impressive, his downhill burst stands out and his change of direction stands out on film.
Nix has the potential to be an impact run defender up the middle thanks to his physical tools and ability to make clean reads, which stands out for his age. Nix has potential as a pass rusher and he has plenty of experience in coverage.
The talented IMG linebacker is ranked as the nation's No. 80 overall player by 247Sports.He's ranked as the No. 2 inside linebacker in the country by Rivals and as the No. 7 overall linebacker by 247Sports.
Nix already has offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Texas, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Auburn, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia and Georgia Tech.
