Linebacker Bodie Kahoun Nearing College Decision Following Notre Dame Visit

Key 2024 linebacker target Bodie Kahoun recaps Blue-Gold Game visit to Notre Dame

For the second time in a month, 2024 Roanoke (Va.) Patrick Henry linebacker Bodie Kahoun made the return to Notre Dame for the Blue-Gold Game this weekend. The Virginia star is inching closer and closer to making a college decision, with the Irish program among the standouts.

According to Kahoun, this recent visit offered him a chance to develop a deeper relationship with the coaching staff. Those bonds have been a big reason why Notre Dame has begun to separate themselves near the top of his list.

"The weekend was great,” Kahoun told Irish Breakdown. "I got a lot of good quality one on one time with the coaches, which was very important to me. Also, I had a good session with the players later on Saturday as well.”

Kahoun, who is a very diligent young man, is trying to get as many options and perspectives as possible to make the right decision. He had the chance to pick the brains of some former Irish stars as well over the weekend.

"I got the chance to meet Jerome Bettis, as well as meeting and speaking with Bryant Young as well,” Kahoun explained. "It’s always good to get the player’s perspective. We talked about the coaches and how they work together. I also talked to them about their own recruiting processes and why they ended up choosing Notre Dame.”

One thing is certain, Notre Dame has clearly made their pitch to Kahoun and made the case why the fit makes sense. The Virginia standout leaves this visit with belief that the fit would make for a potential seamless one.

"After listening to the coaches and the players, I think I’d be a good fit for the linebacker room,” he said. "I also believe I would be a good overall fit for the program both on and off the field.”

Throughout the process, Kahoun has been extremely consistent that he would ideally like to make a college decision by June. So naturally, time is beginning to wind down. There is also a chance that the decision date could be moving up as well.

"I’m working on the timeline now,” said Kahoun. "My family and I are still figuring all of that out.”

Kahoun is a player that Notre Dame identified pretty early and has continued to push heavily for. He could help to answer some of the big questions around linebacker recruiting in the 2024 class potentially.

The 6-2, 220-pound star has a constantly expanding offer list. Some of the notable programs that have offered so far include the Irish, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Maryland, Stanford, Virginia, NC State, Duke, West Virginia and Indiana among others.

The dual-sport star is currently one of the top athletes on the 5-A level in Virginia. Despite his obvious connection to the state of Virginia, Kahoun actually did grow up in Zionsville, Indiana. He has his Midwest roots and is very aware of the brand that Notre Dame boasts.

Kahoun is also a standout lacrosse player for Patrick Henry. The star midfielder has been committed to Ohio State for lacrosse since September of 2022. His ability to potentially play football, or both sports, in college could change for him to explore a different option.
