2024 Linebacker Keyshawn Flowers Excited About Recent Notre Dame Offer

2024 standout linebacker Keyshawn Flowers goes in depth about recent Notre Dame offer and updates his recruitment

There are some major question marks surrounding linebacker recruiting for Notre Dame in the 2024 cycle. There is, however, no question that the staff continues to add a flurry of talented targets to the board, including Severn (Md.) Archbishop Spalding standout Keyshawn Flowers on Wednesday.

The Maryland native makes up a part of what appears to be a deep linebacker crop in 2024 that lacks the elite players at the top. His offer from the Irish was met with a ton of excitement and intrigue. Flowers offered some insight to Irish Breakdown in a recent interview.

"I was very excited about the offer from Notre Dame,” Flowers stated. "They seem to value me a lot as a potential inside linebacker in their system. Obviously Notre Dame is a very prestigious program who plays great football.”

That offer was not the only notable school that has been in contact with Flowers recently. He continues to pull in several impressive offers, some of which have been doing a tremendous job recruiting him thus far.

"Recruiting has been great for me,” said Waters. "I’ve picked up 20 offers and now Notre Dame is number 21. I’m really grateful for all of the programs who have shown me interest,

"Virginia, Miami, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest are a few schools that have shown a lot of interest in me so far,” he continued. "I haven’t been on campus at Notre Dame before but I am trying to get up there sometime soon. I know for sure that I’m going to Maryland on March 1st and Wake Forest on March 21st. Those are the only confirmed dates right now.”

Things are sure to get interesting for Waters, especially as more and more teams put their pitch out to the talented defender. Fortunately for Notre Dame, he isn’t in much of a rush.

Waters knows what he needs in a school and is planning to take his time to find it.

"I really need a place that feels like home all around,” Waters explained. "I want a program that will set me up for the future and will supply me with all the resources to do so, whether that’s the NFL or graduating, getting a degree and a good job coming out of college.

"I’m not sure exactly when I want to commit,” Waters continued. "It will most likely be sometime during next school year but I’m really not in a rush.”

Flowers is coming off of a standout junior campaign for Archbishop Spalding. In 12 games, the Maryland native collected 81 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and five sacks. He also forced two fumbles and recovered two more.

The 6-2, 215-pound defender has garnered interest from a lot of blue blood programs. Some of his notable offers include the Irish, USC, Miami, Oklahoma, Maryland, NC State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Virginia, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Duke and Indiana among others.
