Notre Dame 2024 Class Moves Up To No. 2 In The National Rankings

Notre Dame moved up to No. 2 in the national recruiting rankings after landing a commitment from linebacker Teddy Rezac

Notre Dame is one of the hotter teams in the country on the recruiting trail for the 2024 class, and the Irish continue to climb up the national rankings. After landing Omaha (Neb.) Westside athlete Teddy Rezac the Fighting Irish 2024 class moved up to No. 2 in the national rankings at Rivals.

Notre Dame now has 15 players committed in the 2024 class, and gaining a commitment from Rezac allowed the Irish to leap frog Ohio State for the No. 2 position in the national class rankings.

The top ranked Notre Dame commit in the 2024 class - according to Rivals - is Saline (Mich.) High School quarterback CJ Carr. A 5.0-star player on the Irish Breakdown board, Carr is ranked as the No. 18 overall player in the country according to Rivals. Although not considered a 5-star right now by that network, if he remains in the Top 10 he'll be a five-star as they start adding more five-stars to their list. Rivals always has 32 five-stars in a class when it's all said and done.

Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South wide receiver Cam Williams is next on the board at No. 42 overall. Williams also earned a Top 50 overall player grade (4.5-star) on the Irish Breakdown board. Williams had a dominant junior season and remains a player that is jumping up the national rankings.

Malvern (Pa.) Prep offensive lineman Peter Jones is the third Notre Dame commit to find himself in the Rivals100. Jones is ranked as the No. 90 overall player in the country according to Rivals. Hannibal (Mo.) High School running back Aneyas Williams is just outside of the Top 100, coming in as the No. 108 overall player in the class.

Round Rock (Texas) High School cornerback Leonard Moore ranks as the nation's No. 153 overall recruit, which fits into his Irish Breakdown grade as well (4.0-star, Top 150 caliber). Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic tight end Jack Larsen, Charlotte (N.C.) Christian receiver Micah Gilbert, and Charlotte (N.C.) Christian defensive end Bryce Young are graded as four-star recruits by Rivals.

This ranking is impressive even more when you consider how some of Notre Dame's 2024 commits are still wildly underrated by Rivals. Warner Robins (Ga.) High School wide receiver Isiah Canion is graded as a Top 100 player with a 5.0-star upside grade by Irish Breakdown, and On3 ranks him as the No. 94 player in the country. Rivals, however, ranks him as a middle of the road three-star recruit.

Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek defensive end Cole Mullins and Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School defensive tackle Owen Wafle are also very underrated players that grade out as Top 150 players on the Irish Breakdown board. Wafle is a four-star player by Rivals and was once inside the Top 250 but fell out shortly after committing to Notre Dame.
