Safety Kennedy Urlacher Includes Notre Dame In Top Six Schools

Notre Dame included among top six schools for 2024 safety target Kennedy Urlacher

Safety recruiting for the 2024 recruiting class is a major area of importance for Notre Dame. The staff is still looking for their first commitment at the position, courting several talented players around the country.

One of the program's top targets is Chandler (Ariz.) High School standout Kennedy Urlacher, who the team has been high on for some time. The staff received great news on Friday when they were included as a part of Urlacher’s top six schools list.

The Fighting Irish were joined by Penn State, Miami, TCU, Kansas State and Illinois.

Urlacher has quickly risen on the recruiting trail after a slow start to his process. The 6-1, 180-pound defensive back has seen his offer list quickly expand. Some of the other programs who have offered include Nebraska, Washington, Iowa, Arizona State, Arizona, Cal, Stanford and Kansas among many others.

As a junior, Urlacher was a valuable member on the back end for the Chandler Wolves. He finished that season with 34 total tackles, a tackle for loss, an interception and two pass breakups. Urlacher also returned a fumble 90 yards for a touchdown.

Urlacher comes with a lot of expectations just based on his last name. He is the son of former Chicago Bears Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Urlacher, who Notre Dame fans should remember quite well.

The younger Urlacher made his first trip on campus on April 15th, which was an outstanding trip for the Arizona native. Notre Dame has some clear momentum in this recruitment heading down the stretch. Landing Urlacher is very important for a Notre Dame defense that needs to add impact talent to the back end of its defense in the 2024 class.
