2025 Safety JaDon Blair Sees Similarities Between His Game And Kyle Hamilton
On Thursday, Notre Dame extended an offer to 2025 Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor athlete JaDon Blair. The North Carolina standout is being pursued as a safety, a position group that has some major recruiting question marks moving forward.
Blair went in depth on the recent Irish offer, which meant a lot to him. It meant even more knowing the impact that a rather big safety just had on the program recently.
“My thoughts on the offer were just so appreciative that I was offered from a school who had a past safety like Kyle Hamilton my exact same size basically and I was very grateful for it,” Blair explained. “I feel like my game can relate to his as a long cover field guy who can come down and make plays.
“My early thoughts on Notre Dame are good because I know how good of a football program Notre Dame is,” Blair continued. “I can see that they develop their players well.”
Blair is already gaining some major attention on the recruiting trail. School visits are sure to follow once the summer comes around. For now, he is just living day by day and taking everything in stride.
“Recruiting has been going pretty good for me,” Blair said. “I’m building that relationship with some of the schools that have offered me. Right now I couldn’t really say who’s standing out the most because I’m just building that relationship with the schools who have offered me. I am hearing from a lot of great people.
“Right now I haven’t planned any visits so far but I am looking forward to going down to some great football programs this summer to see what they have to offer,” he continued. “Throughout the trips I have been on to be honest all of them were extremely amazing and that relationship part was there and I appreciate every single last one of them and I am still hoping to build that relationship with them.”
Blair has received a flurry of interest from several notable programs thus far. Some of the top programs who have extended offers so far include the Fighting Irish, Penn State, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech,
The 6-4, 180-pound athlete was a substantial producer from his safety position. He finished his sophomore campaign with 44 total tackles, two tackles for loss, an interception and two pass breakups.
Blair was also used on the offensive side of the football, although that was rare. He completed seven of twelve passing attempts for 70 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, he also carried the ball for 28 yards on four carries.
