2025 Wide Receiver Taz Williams Jr. Set For First Trip To Notre Dame

Star 2025 Texas pass catcher Taz Williams Jr. previews upcoming trip to Notre Dame for the Blue-Gold Game

Notre Dame is set to host several top recruits from the 2024 and 2025 recruiting class this weekend for the Blue-Gold Game. Among them, Red Oak (Texas) High School star pass catcher Taz Williams Jr. is set to make his first trip to campus.

The Irish staff has quickly impressed the Texas standout after offering him as a part of the Pot of Gold offer event on St. Patrick’s Day. Williams went in depth on that relationship, and a few things he is looking forward to seeing this weekend.

"My relationship with Notre Dame is strong,” Williams said. "We talk multiple times a week right now. It seems like a great program for a potential fit for me.”

Wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey specifically has made a great early impression on the talented pass catcher. That has become a running trend among any wide receiver recruit you talk to since he came to the coaching staff.

"(Coach Stuckey) is a cool dude,” he said. "His personality stands out and we talk about a lot of stuff outside of football and recruiting.

"I can’t wait to see the campus and meet all of the coaches in person,” Williams continued. "I also want to see how the coaching staff and players operate in a similar game day environment.”

Williams will be making the trip with his father and step mom for this particular visit. They have been on the move constantly as a family this off-season, setting up for even more campus tour over the next couple of days.

"Recruiting for me has been great,” Williams stated. "It has been a little on the slower side just because of the dead period but it’s starting to pick back up. I was at Georgia Tech, Georgia, Alabama and TCU recently. I am visiting Ohio State April 21st, Notre Dame April 22nd, Purdue April 23rd, Michigan April 24th.”

While it is going to be a busy couple of months, with a lot of top suitors working to get Williams on campus, it is big to get him to South Bend this quickly. It will be interesting to see just how much impact this upcoming trip has on him, especially considering the impact that Notre Dame has had in the state of Texas recently.

Williams is already being courted by some of the premier programs in all of college football. Some of the notable schools that have offered him include the Irish, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, TCU, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Auburn, Baylor, Texas Tech, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Missouri, Arizona State, Arizona and Cal among others.

The 6-1, 175-pound pass catcher is currently rated as the No. 111 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class by Rivals.

As a sophomore at Red Oak, the Texas star hauled in 31 receptions for 582 yards and five touchdowns. Williams also averaged 27.5 yards per kick return, including a long of 85 yards. He also had a long of 78 yards on a catch as well, showcasing his ability to create explosive plays.
