Big Time Corner Dallas Golden Is High On Notre Dame After Latest Visit

Star 2025 athlete Dallas Golden recaps return visit to Notre Dame

Notre Dame hosted a long list of talented recruits this past weekend for their battle against USC. That included several talented defensive backs, including Tampa Bay (Fla.) Berkeley Prep athlete Dallas Golden for a return visit.

The relationship between Golden and the Irish has been developing for a long time, with the staff offering him in August of last year. Since then, the Notre Dame has made the Florida star a major priority. The visit was another great opportunity to really impress Golden, and Notre Dame accomplished just that.

"The visit went really well,” Golden told Irish Breakdown. "The game was amazing from start to finish. It was such an incredible atmosphere. It really made my first game in South Bend really memorable.”

There were a lot of people who made this a successful overall trip. That started with the Irish coaches, who continued to build a strong bond.

"I got to spend a lot of time with Chad Bowden and the coaches,” Golden noted. "They were just happy that I got back to campus. They are always so great to be around.”

Then there were the fans. They really made Golden feel like something special throughout the visit.

"The player walk was crazy,” he explained. "The fans were coming up to all of the recruits and were just really excited for us being there, and for the game. I even had a kid ask me for my autograph. That was really cool.”

During the game, the Notre Dame defense did their damage during their 48-20 victory over USC, forcing five turnovers on the night. Golden could see himself flying around on the back end of that defense.

"I definitely could see myself on that defense,” he said. "They were really aggressive, especially in the secondary. It was a great performance from that side of the ball.”

Coming into the trip, Golden already had a high opinion of the Notre Dame program. That momentum continued this past weekend.

"I’ve liked Notre Dame for a long time now,” Golden said. "I’m really just trying to find out what’s best for me. Notre Dame is definitely near the top of the list.”

Golden is considered to be a four-star recruit by On3, ESPN and Rivals. On3 has him ranked the highest, sitting as the No. 58 overall player and No. 5 safety in the 2025 recruiting class. They also have Golden pegged as the No. 9 player in the state of Florida, a territory that Notre Dame has already made an impact in 2025 with commitments from running back Justin Thurman and defensive tackle Davion Dixon.

The Florida native has already demanded the attention of various big time programs early on in the process. Some of the top schools who have offered Golden include the Fighting Irish, Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, Miami, Michigan, LSU, Florida, Penn State, Florida State, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Iowa, Syracuse, Louisville, West Virginia, Boston College, Duke and Rutgers among others.

The 6-1, 165-pound athlete makes plays on both sides of the ball for Berkeley Prep. He makes his biggest impact as a running back as a sophomore, rushing for 1,403 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging 7.3 yards per carry. Golden also hauled in 10 receptions for 145 yards and another score.

On defense, Golden recorded 14 total tackles and two pass breakups in limited action.

During his junior season, Golden has once again made a huge impact. The talented athlete has totaled 968 yards and 10 touchdowns in seven games. Golden has also recorded six total tackles, three interceptions and three more pass breakups on defense.
