Notre Dame Commits Set For Week Nine Action

Previewing every Notre Dame commit set for action in week nine

On Friday and Saturday, the future of Notre Dame football will be well represented across high school football. There are several games specifically that will be massive in week nine.

Here is a preview of every game, including when and how to watch.

QB CJ CARR, SALINE (Mich.) HIGH SCHOOL

Matchup: Saline (8-0) vs Lake Orion (8-0) (Saline, Mich.)

Game Time: Friday (10/20) at 7 PM ET

Carr’s night was over at halftime of the team’s 70-0 victory over Skyline last Friday. On the night he completed 8-10 passes for 156 yards and four touchdowns. The senior was clean all night with zero turnovers.

Saline hopes to continue their undefeated season against a really talented Lake Orion (8-0) team.

QB DEUCE KNIGHT (2025), LUCEDALE (Miss.) GEORGE COUNTY

Matchup: George County (6-2) vs West Harrison (4-3) (Lucedale, Miss.)

Game Time: Friday (10/20) at 7 PM ET

It was a massive victory for George County over a previously unbeaten Hancock squad last week. Knight showcased his dual threat abilities on the night, passing for 135 yards and rushing for 64 yards on the ground. He was able to get in the endzone on the ground.

That is back-to-back tremendous performances for Knight. West Harrison (4-3) will be the next challenger on Friday.

RB ANEYAS WILLIAMS, HANNIBAL (Mo.) HIGH SCHOOL

Matchup: Hannibal (7-1) at Battle/Columbia Independent (3-5) (Columbia, Mo.)

Once again Williams’ full impact was not needed last Friday. During their 56-7 victory over Marshall, Williams hauled in three receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Hannibal is clearly keeping him fresh for playoff time.

RB KEDREN YOUNG, LUFKIN (Texas) HIGH SCHOOL

Matchup: Lufkin (4-3) at Tyler (5-2) (Tyler, Texas)

Game Time: Friday (10/20) at 7 PM ET

Despite the loss last week, it was another magnificent night for Young. He rushed for 184 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. No matter what role Lufkin has needed Young to play, he’s done so with big results. He’s having a tremendous senior year.

Young hopes to continue that impact in a big game against Tyler (5-2) on Friday night.

RB JUSTIN THURMAN (2025), TAMPA BAY (Fla.) JESUIT

Matchup: Jesuit (5-2) at Tampa Bay Tech (8-0) (Tampa Bay, Fla.)

Game Time: Friday (10/20) at 7:30 PM ET

Thurman had his third straight impressive performance last Friday during the team’s 36-35 victory over Gaither. The junior speedster ran for three touchdowns on the night. Tampa Bay Tech (8-0) is hoping to slow down the talented runner.

WR MICAH GILBERT, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CHRISTIAN

Matchup: Charlotte Christian (5-3) vs Charlotte Latin (2-6) (Charlotte, N.C.)

Game Time: Friday (10/20) at 7 PM ET

It was a quiet night for Gilbert, hauling in two receptions for 31 yards last week. He had a long reception for 22 yards on the night. Gilbert did have a big interception on the defensive side of the ball. Charlotte Christian looks to get back to their winning ways against Charlotte Latin (2-6).

WR LOGAN SALDATE, SALINAS (Calif.) PALMA

Matchup: Palma (5-2) vs Soquel (6-2) (Salinas, Calif.)

Game Time: Friday (10/20) at 7:30 PM ET

It was a big turn day for Saldate last week, who hauled in eight receptions for 188 yards and two touchdowns. The California pass catcher is having an outstanding senior year. In seven games, Saldate has caught 35 balls for 662 yards and eight touchdowns.

TE JACK LARSEN, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CATHOLIC

Matchup: Charlotte Catholic (6-3) vs East Mecklenburg (1-7) (Charlotte, N.C.)

Charlotte Catholic fell to Butler last Friday 24-21. Larsen and his crew hope to get back on track next week against a struggling East Mecklenburg (1-7) squad. On the season, Larsen has hauled in 28 receptions for 485 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 17.3 yards per catch.

OT GUERBY LAMBERT, WEST ROXBURY (Mass.) CATHOLIC MEMORIAL

Matchup: Catholic Memorial (5-1) at St. John’s Prep (5-0) (Denvers, Mass.)

Game Time: Saturday (10/21) at 1 PM ET

It was a dominant victory for Catholic Memorial, defeating St. John’s 42-9 last Friday. The team now heads into a massive matchup against St. John’s Prep (5-0). The Knights will be depending on Lambert and the offensive line big time.

OL PETER JONES, MALVERN (Pa.) PREP

Matchup: Malvern Prep (5-1) at Haverford (3-3) (Haverford, Pa.)

Game Time: Saturday (10/21) at 1 PM ET

Malvern Prep has quietly gotten off to a 5-1 overall record so far this season. That comes off of a 35-14 win over Episcopal Academy lasy Friday, their best offensive performance of the year to date. On Saturday, they will travel to take on Haverford School (3-3).

DE BRYCE YOUNG, CHARLOTTE (N.C.) CHRISTIAN

Matchup: Charlotte Christian (5-3) vs Charlotte Latin (2-6) (Charlotte, N.C.)

Despite the lopsided defeat to one of the top powers in the state, Young showcased his big time ability last Friday. He recorded eight total tackles, two tackles for loss and two sacks on the night. Young also blocked a field goal during the loss.

DE LOGHAN THOMAS, LAKEWOOD (Ohio) ST. EDWARD

Matchup: St. Edward (8-1) at Archbishop Hoban (8-0) (Akron, Ohio)

In the battle of Irish commits, Thomas and St. Edward came out on top over Hobbs and his talented Archbishop Moeller squad last week. The Crusaders fell short, failing to connect on a game tying touchdown reception in the last couple minutes of the game.

St. Edward has a massive battle against Archbishop Hoban (8-0) on Friday.

DE CJ MAY (2025), HIGHLAND HOME (Al.) HIGH SCHOOL

Matchup: Highland Home (8-0) vs LaFayette (1-6) (Highland Home, Al.)

Game Time: Friday (10/20) at 7 PM ET

Highland Home continued their dominance last Friday, defeating Barbour County 39-0. On Friday, they will welcome a less than stellar LaFayette (1-6) team.

DT SEAN SEVILLANO, CLEARWATER ACADEMY INTERNATIONAL

Matchup: Clearwater Academy (3-4) at Lakeland (6-2) (Lakeland, Fla.)

It was a quiet day for Sevillano’s standards, collecting eight total tackles and a tackle for loss last. On the season, the senior has recorded 43 tackles for loss and nine sacks in seven games. Lakeland (6-2) will welcome Clearwater Academy to town on Friday night.

LB KYNGSTONN VILIAMU-ASA, BELLFLOWER (Calif.) ST. JOHN BOSCO

Matchup: St. John Bosco (7-1) at JSerra Catholic (4-4) (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.)

Game Time: Friday (10/20) at 7 PM ET

It was a dominant performance from the St. John Bosco defense during the team’s 28-0 victory over Mater Dei last Friday. Viliamu-Asa is leading arguably the top overall defense in high school football. They held the Monarchs to just 182 total yards in the shutout.

LB BODIE KAHOUN, ROANOKE (Va.) PATRICK HENRY

Matchup: Patrick Henry (6-1) at Christiansburg (7-1) (Roanoke, Va.)

It was another week and another tremendous performance from Kahoun. During the 35-28 win over Cave Spring, he collected 19 total tackles (12 solo, 7 assists) and two tackles for loss. On the season, he has made 127 total tackles in seven games.

CB KARSON HOBBS, CINCINNATI (Ohio) ARCHBISHOP MOELLER

Matchup: Archbishop Moeller (5-4) at King (4-4) (Detroit, Mich.)

It has been an up-and-down season for Archbishop Moeller, who fell short against St. Edward last week 28-21. They hope for a nice performance when they travel out of state to take on King (4-4).

S TAEBRON BENNIE-POWELL, WEST CHESTER (Ohio) LAKOTA WEST

Matchup: Lakota West (7-2) at Hamilton (7-2) (Hamilton, Ohio)

Game Time: Friday (10/20) at 7 PM ET

Lakota West has been one of the hottest teams in the state, winning seven straight coming into this matchup. They will travel to Hamilton (7-2) on Friday night. The Firebirds will need a big performance from Bennie-Powell, who is leading a defense that is allowing just seven points per game.
