Cree Thomas Is Excited For Game Day Atmosphere At Notre Dame
Notre Dame cornerback recruiting has been tremendous under Mike Mickens over the last couple of cycles. They are looking to continue that momentum in the 2025 class with Phoenix (Az.) Brophy College Prep cornerback Cree Thomas, who is set for a return visit to campus this weekend against USC.
This will be Thomas’ second trip to campus, the first coming this offseason. With this being his first game in South Bend, it’ll offer a new and unique perspective for Thomas.
“I’m excited to see the game day atmosphere,” Thomas told Irish Breakdown. “I know it’s a sold out game so I'm excited to see the energy in South Bend.”
Notre Dame has been in on Thomas for some time now. They have made sure to make the Arizona native aware of just how special the program is, both with relationships and history.
"My recruitment process has been a blessing and I'm so thankful for the gifts that I have,” Thomas said. "I’m building stronger and stronger relationships with the staff at Notre Dame as the weeks go by. I’m excited to see everyone again in person.
"Notre Dame is one of the most storied programs in college football so it would be amazing to play on that stage of football,” he continued. "The coaches have told me that I am a top priority in their recruitment and that will be huge when it comes time for me to decide where I go to college.”
In regards to timelines, it’s simple: Thomas doesn’t have one. When it’s right, he will make a decision.
"There is no timeline for my commitment,” he explained. "I feel like when I know, I'll know.”
Notre Dame has made Thomas a priority early. The last time they pulled a talented cornerback out of Brophy Prep, it worked out pretty well.
The Arizona native has quickly attracted the attention of several prominent PAC 12 schools, including holding offers from Oregon, Arizona State, Arizona and Cal early on. Thomas also holds offers from the Fighting Irish, Wisconsin and Purdue among others.
The 6-1, 170-pound cornerback is coming off of a outstanding sophomore campaign for Brophy College Prep. Thomas locked down one of the cornerback positions, finishing the season with 33 total tackles, one interception and six pass breakups. He also added in 1.5 tackles for loss and a half of a sack, while also being the team’s main kick and punt returner.
So far as a junior, Thomas has been even better. Through six games, he has collected 20 total tackles, three interceptions and three more pass breakups. One of his interceptions was returned for a touchdown.
