For the first time since visiting for the recruiting BBQ last offseason, Noblesville (Ind.) High School pass rusher Israel Oladipupo will be returning to Notre Dame on March 23rd to see a spring practice. Oladipupo has been very complimentary of the Irish program, although he hasn’t received an offer up until this point.

Communication has been limited between Notre Dame and the Indiana native. This upcoming visit will be a great opportunity for both sides to see each other again, and see where things go from there. Clearly there is a desire to see Oladipupo in person again.

“We haven't spoken very often,” Oladipupo told Irish Breakdown. “Last time I spoke to a coach was in January when Coach (Al) Washington came to see me. He wanted to get me back up there so they sent dates to my coach.”

It will be interesting to see where things go with Notre Dame after this visit, but regardless recruiting has really been picking up. He has received a flurry of offers recently, including Boston College, Duke, Liberty, Central Michigan, Ohio, Western Michigan, Buffalo, Bowling Green, Ball State and Kent State so far.

“Everything with recruiting has been going great,” Oladipupo said. “I got to get in contact with these coaches and get the offers which were really amazing these last couple of days.”

The 6-3, 220-pound defender is coming off of a really promising season for Noblesbville as a junior. Oladipupo was asked to do a lot of things for the team, including playing on the edge, at linebacker and from inside techniques. He finished that season with 75 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a pass breakup.

Oladippo is off to a strong start to the offseason so far. He is grinding and continuing to improve, which will bring even more recruiting attention moving forward.

“I’m working with Coach Eze (Obiora) every day after school,” he said. “Sometimes even before school and we also do school football workouts on certain days as well. I’ve been putting in a lot of work and keep getting better.”
