Elite 2025 Defender Anthony Sacca Sets Visit To Notre Dame

Notre Dame has made it a clear priority to get longer and more athletic on the defensive side of the football since Marcus Freeman arrived. 2025 Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph’s Prep defender Anthony Sacca is the perfect illustration of that mission, possessing the ability to play linebacker, safety or rover on the next level.

Linebacker is the position that Notre Dame is projecting him at currently, potentially beginning his career as a rover depending on how his body develops. Sacca received a Pot of Gold offer from Notre Dame today, but he already had a visit to South Bend set.

Sacca will be heading to Notre Dame on April 22nd for the Blue-Gold Game. This will be Sacca’s first trip in South Bend.

Sacca is considered as a four-star recruit by both On3 and Rivals, with Rivals ranking him as the nation's No. 59 overall player, No. 6 linebacker and No. 2 player in the state of Pennsylvania.

The 6-3, 225-pound defender currently holds an impressive offer list, rivaling any recruit in the class. Some of the notable programs who have extended offers include the Irish, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Miami, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Kentucky, South Carolina, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and Rutgers among others.

The Pennsylvania standout is coming off of a standout sophomore campaign for St. Joseph’s Prep, who finished 12-1 with a state championship. Despite boasting an impressive combination of size and length, Sacca played on the back end at safety for the team. He ended the year with 49 total tackles, one interception, a forced fumble and another fumble recovery.

Sacca promises to be a busy guy on the visit trail over the next couple of months. He already has other visits to Michigan (4/1) and is planning another one to Tennessee as well.
