Elite 2026 Quarterback Noah Grubbs Recaps Notre Dame Return
For the second time, 2026 Lake Mary (Fla.) High School signal caller Noah Grubbs visits Notre Dame this past weekend during their battle against Ohio State. That was his first trip since being offered while camping this offseason.
Now that 2025 quarterback recruiting is wrapped up with the commitment of Mississippi standout Deuce Knight, the Irish staff can now do even more work on the top 2026 options. Grubbs is near the top of that list, coming off of a tremendous experience over the weekend.
"The visit was great,” Grubbs told Irish Breakdown. "What a great game and the environment was nothing like I’ve ever experienced before.”
A big part of the trip was Grubbs being able to see, and speak with the Notre Dame coaches. With him being a 2026 recruit, communication can be limited. The Irish staff made sure to take advantage of this time together.
"Getting to see the coaches was awesome,” Grubbs explained. "I spent great time with both Coach (Marcus) Freeman and Coach (Gino) Guidugli before the game on the field.
"Something that stood out to me was when Coach Freeman walked over to me and my quarterback trainer, and he told me ‘I’m very glad and excited you came here, now let’s get you to stay here,’” he continued. "That’s something I won’t forget.”
During this trip, Grubbs’ father and private quarterback coach Baylin Trujillo came with him. Notre Dame impressed both of them as well.
"They both loved it,” he said. "My dad is into the academic side of things and all he talked about was how beautiful and clean the campus is.
"Coach Baylin loved the game atmosphere and how the coaches treated me,” Grubbs added. "So I would say we all were very satisfied with this visit.”
Grubbs is beginning to gain a lot of traction on the recruiting trail. On top of his offer from Notre Dame, he has also been offered by Michigan, Miami, Penn State, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Duke and UCF among others.
The 6-4, 215-pound signal caller put together a standout freshman campaign in 2022. Grubbs led the team with 1,598 yards passing and 17 touchdowns. He was also careful with the football, only throwing six interceptions on the season.
Through four games as a sophomore, Grubbs has thrown for 1,525 yards and 23 touchdowns through the air. Grubbs has completed 65 percent of his passes, averaging 381.3 passing yards per game and only thrown three interceptions.
