Notre Dame is looking to continue its strong wide receiver recruiting in the 2025 class, and one of the must-get players in the class is Geneva (Ill.) Community pass catcher Talyn Taylor. Notre Dame is making a hard push for Taylor, an elite recruit with offers from all over the country, and the staff is planning to get him back on campus again very soon.

Irish Breakdown has confirmed that Taylor is one of several top 2025 players that is coming to Notre Dame on July 30th for the program's recruiting barbecue event.

This will be Taylor's third trip to Notre Dame as a recruit, and it's evidence that he's a major priority for the Notre Dame coaching staff. His most recent trip came on March 25th for a junior day. Getting Taylor back on campus is a big deal for Notre Dame, who is trending well in this recruitment early on, but the Irish staff also knows it has to beat out many of the nation's top programs if they want to land Taylor.

Taylor is currently rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 26 overall player and No. 6 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class according to Rivals. Irish Breakdown has already given Taylor a 4.5-star grade (Top 50 caliber recruit) and a 5.0-star upside grade.

The 6-0, 165-pound pass catcher is putting together a stellar offer list. Some of the notable programs to offer Taylor include Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), UCLA, Wisconsin, Utah, Nebraska, Michigan State, Iowa, Illinois, Louisville, Purdue, Minnesota and Syracuse among others.

The Illinois standout is coming off of a dynamic sophomore campaign for Geneva County. He led the squad with 45 receptions for 660 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games. Taylor was also the teams main kick and punt returner, averaging 11.5 yards per punt return on the season.

Wide receiver recruiting has been stellar since Chansi Stuckey was hired by the staff prior to the 2022 season. Taylor is the type of player who could really continue that momentum, sitting as one of the elite playmakers in the 2025 class.
