Notre Dame Lands Virginia Linebacker Bodie Kahoun

Standout 2024 linebacker Bodie Kahoun opts for the Irish over offers from Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia Tech among others

Notre Dame has landed a commitment from 2024 Roanoke (Va.) Patrick Henry linebacker Bodie Kahoun. The Virginia standout becomes the second linebacker to commit to the Irish, joining Nebraska native Teddy Rezac who committed last Friday.

The 6-3, 220-pound standout linebacker has continued to see his offer list expand over the last few months. Some of the notable programs that have offered so far include the Irish, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia Tech, Virginia, NC State, West Virginia and Indiana among others.

The dual-sport star is currently one of the top athletes on the 5-A level in Virginia. Despite his obvious connection to the state of Virginia, Kahoun actually did grow up in Zionsville, Indiana. He has his Midwest roots and is clearly very aware of the brand that Notre Dame boasts.

Prior to committing to Notre Dame, Kahoun made multiple trips to South Bend. His first trip came on March 22nd, and he followed it up with another visit for the Notre Dame Blue-Gold Game on April 22nd. At the time it was mentioned he might move his timeline up, and now he has.

Kahoun is also a standout lacrosse player for Patrick Henry. The star midfielder had been committed to Ohio State for lacrosse since September of 2022. His ability to potentially play football, or both sports, in college has changed his outlook to explore different options on the next level. That journey has led him to this commitment with the Irish. 

It was previously reported that Kahoun would take his official visits before selecting a school, including stops at North Carolina (June 2-4), Tennessee (June 16-18) and Virginia Tech (June 23-25) on top of his Notre Dame official on June 9-11. Ultimately that last step was not needed. The Irish staff had made Kahoun feel like a priority throughout the process, which led to his commitment on Monday morning.
