Notre Dame Makes Top 6 For Standout Running Back Anthony Carrie

Notre Dame received an outstanding early commitment from 2024 Hannibal (Mo.) High School running back Aneyas Williams, who is one of the more productive running backs in all of high school football. The next wish of the Irish staff is to find a dynamic counterpart to pair with Williams in the backfield.

Right near the top of the board, Tampa Bay (Fla.) Carrollwood Day star runner Anthony Carrie continues to be a key target for Notre Dame. On Saturday, Carrie announce that he was down to six schools, which included Notre Dame.

The Irish were joined on the list by Michigan State, Ole Miss, North Carolina, South Carolina and Oklahoma.

Carrie is considered a consensus four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform. He ranks highest on Rivals, coming in as the No. 66 overall player and No. 7 running back in the 2024 recruiting class.

He boasts an impressive list of scholarship offers to choose from. Some of the notable programs who have extended offers include the Fighting Irish, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Texas A&M, Florida, Miami, Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, Oregon, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Michigan State, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Utah, Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, Auburn, Arkansas, Colorado, Ole Miss, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Indiana, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Virginia Tech among others.

In nine games as a junior, the 6-0, 185-pound runner rushed for 919 yards and 16 touchdowns. Carrie averaged 6.5 yards per carry, while hauling in another five receptions for 51 yards in the passing game.

Carrie already has his official visit set to South Bend on June 9th through the 11th. Notre Dame has a chance to close this one out and put together another outstanding running back class, which has become a trend over the last couple of years.
