Mater Dei Linebacker Abduall Sanders Jr. Sets Visit To Notre Dame
More and more talented recruits across high school football are beginning to finalize visits to schools for the spring and summer. On Wednesday, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei linebacker Abduall Sanders Jr. Informed Irish Breakdown that he will be making the trip out to Notre Dame on April 21st.
The talented defender was originally hoping to stay for the Blue-Gold Game on the 22nd. Unfortunately those travel plans did not quite work out, so he'll be here the day before.
Sanders is beginning to gain traction on the recruiting trail. The sophomore currently holds offers from Utah, Michigan State and Arizona. If his film from this past season is any indication, many more will be coming in the future.
The California native is currently rated as a four-star recruit according to On3.
The 6-2, 215-pound defender created a role for himself on an extremely talented Monarch defense as a sophomore. Sanders would collect 25 total tackles, five tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. That includes another two quarterback hurries and three pass breakups.
While Sanders does a lot of his damage working off the edge for Mayer Dei, he has the type of athletic profile that could work at either inside linebacker position potentially on the next level.
The Irish staff would be incredibly interested in attracting talent from Mater Dei. They are a program that routinely puts out tremendous talent, and usually a large volume of it.
