Notre Dame Offer Really Stood Out For Wisconsin Offensive Lineman Owen Strebig
As if beginning spring practice wasn’t hectic enough, Notre Dame recruiting hasn’t slowed down one bit. The staff is fresh off of an extremely successful Pot of Gold offer event on Friday, extending offers to a host of impressive recruits in the 2025 recruiting class.
As noted last week, Notre Dame only offered two offensive lineman during the event, which could have something to do with new offensive line coach Joe Rudolph really helping to set the board since he was hired last month. A new offer was extended on Tuesday to Waukesha (Wisc.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Owen Strebig.
No matter who the offensive line coach is, players understand what an offer from the University of Notre Dame means. Even if Strebig never does any more research on the Irish program, he knows the reputation that they bring.
“I am just very thankful,” Strebig said. “It will stand out for me just because of how historic the school is.”
The mammoth offensive tackle has really begun to garner major interest on the recruiting side. Some premier programs have already checked in on the Wisconsin standout, with more to come.
The 6-8, 290-pound offensive tackle has received offers from the Fighting Irish, Michigan, Florida, Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Purdue and Indiana among others.
“Recruiting has taken off a lot recently for me,” Strebig explained. “I will be visiting Wisconsin on March 30th, Florida State on April 11th, Notre Dame on April 15th and Illinois on April 20th.
“I am really looking for a school that can get me a solid education,” he continued. “I am also looking for a school that will be able to get to the next level of football.”
Strebig is considered a four-star recruit on the Rivals ranking. He currently sits as the No. 18 offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class according to the site. The Wisconsin native is teammates of 2024 running back Corey Smith who Notre Dame was high on for a while.
