Notre Dame Offers 2024 Georgia Offensive Lineman Anthonie Knapp
With spring practice under way, it is also a huge time of year for recruiting as well. With campus visits starting to really pick up, it promises to be a busy month for Notre Dame football.
That included hosting 2024 Roswell (Ga.) High School offensive lineman Anthonie Knapp on campus for the first time on Friday. The Georgia native has a tremendous visit, concluding with an official scholarship offer being extended.
Knapp has seen his offer expand quickly over the last couple of months. Some of his notable offers include the Fighting Irish, Penn State, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Wake Forest, Virginia, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Duke, Indiana and Kansas among others.
The 6-4, 265-pound offensive lineman brings a nasty demeanor to the field. He was a part of an offense that averaged nearly 41 points per game on their way to a 12-2 record. They especially excelled on the ground, rushing for 3,076 yards on the season, averaging 219.7 yards per game, 7.7 yards per carry and 43 touchdowns.
New offensive line coach Joe Rudolph previously recruited Knapp while he was still a part of the Virginia Tech program. There is a clear relationship there that has already been built.
So far in the 2024 recruiting class, the Irish staff has already secured a commitment from Pennsylvania offensive lineman Peter Jones. There is believed to be another two to three spots for offensive lineman in the class. It will be interesting to see how heavily Notre Dame pursues Knapp moving forward.
