Notre Dame still has a lot of work to do with building its safety class in 2024, but the Fighting Irish staff continues to also work to build its board for the 2025 class. That has led to staff to offer Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick standout athlete Ethan Long.

The 6-2, 180-pound two-sport standout announced the offer today on Twitter.

Long is an intriguing prospect that thrives on the football field and the basketball court. A long athlete with an impressive frame, Long should be able to fill out nicely over the next two years. He has the kind of frame that makes you believe he'll not only fill out and get stronger, he could also grow another inch or so.

Long does a little bit of everything in the Brunswick defense. He shows the ability to play over the top with good range and easy movement skills, he comes down well in the alleys and is a more than willing tackler. The willingness is there, but Long clearly needs to get stronger at the next level.

Long also shows impressive man-to-man skills on film. He'll need to continue getting stronger and faster, but his change of direction skills and feel for anticipating routes is really impressive. That allows Long to get his hands on a lot of passes. As a sophomore, Long is credited with eight interceptions and 11 pass break ups in just 12 games.

The Brunswick star has yet to be ranked by any of the recruiting services, but that should change in the very near future.

Long now has offers from the Fighting Irish, Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State, Duke, Maryland, Boston College, Pittsburgh and BYU. He also has an offer from Dartmouth, which shows his academic prowess.
