Notre Dame Recruiting Hour: Finishing Off The 2024 Class Strong - Offense Edition

Irish Breakdown dives into the 2024 offensive class and who the Irish must land on offense to have a gap closing class

Notre Dame has certainly improved its recruiting since Marcus Freeman arrived, and the Irish are looking for a second straight elite recruiting class. Notre Dame is off to a great start and currently has a Top 5 class, but landing a true gap closing unit requires the Irish to finish strong.

Our latest Notre Dame Recruiting Hour show is about the current class and what Notre Dame must do in order to land that kind of gap closing class on the offensive side of the ball.

Our show kicks off with a discussion about the currently class, which contains six players on the offensive side of the ball (with nine total commits). Notre Dame's offensive class, so far, is outstanding. Notre Dame has landed a quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end and two offensive linemen.

Landing five-star quarterback CJ Carr and big time wide receiver Cam Williams is certainly a great start for the Fighting Irish. We break down their film a bit, talk about how important they are as the foundation of the 2024 class and how big it is that two elite 2024 offensive recruits are in Notre Dame's backyard.

Next we dive into wide receiver recruiting. Notre Dame landed an elite group of pass catchers in 2023, but the best teams stack big time classes on top of each other. Williams is a great start, and Notre Dame also has players like Jason Robinson Jr., Micah Gilbert, Isiah Canion, Bredell Richardson and other prospects remaining on the board. We discuss what kind of combination Notre Dame needs to land to have another top notch pass catching unit. We also discussed where things stand with five-star Ryan Wingo.

Offensive line recruiting is the next topic. Notre Dame already has commitments from Peter Jones and Anthonie Knapp. We discussed the remaining needs in the class, and how incredibly important it is for the Irish to land Massachusetts star lineman Guerby Lambert. We also discuss in-state offensive lineman Styles Prescod. Lambert might be the most important uncommitted player on the Irish offensive board.

Next we talked about running back and tight end. Notre Dame has a commitment from RB Aneyas Williams and TE Jack Larsen already, and we discuss running back targets Kedren Young and Anthony Carrie, and tight ends Jaden Reddell and Carter Nelson.
