Notre Dame Remains High On Elite Linebacker Noah Mikhail
Star 2025 La Verne (Calif.) Bonita linebacker Noah Mikhail immediately called Notre Dame his dream school after being offered last November, and since then, the Irish staff has been putting in consistent effort with the talented linebacker.
That includes getting Mikhail on campus this spring. He has continued to see his relationship with the staff get stronger and stronger.
"My relationship with Notre Dame has been great,” Mikhail told Irish Breakdown. "Building a relationship with Coach (Al) Golden and Coach (Max) Bullough has been very enjoyable. They each bring a deep background of knowledge but from different perspectives.
“Notre Dame does a great job when it comes to getting to know you and keeping in contact,” he continued. “They show me love consistently.”
That effort is a very welcomed sight, especially when attracting one of the top defenders in the 2025 recruiting class. He obviously had a high opinion of the Irish program early, and that’s only going to strengthen that view.
"Notre Dame is a great program and the development piece along with the history and culture behind it all,” Mikhail said. "They have been a school I’ve loved for a long time. It would be a tremendous opportunity.”
Notre Dame did a good job getting on Mikhail very early in the process. Even with his early attraction to the program, it is still going to be a dog fight until the end. Some of the top schools in college football are coming after Mikhail.
"There has been a lot of love all around from schools, it has been a really fun process," Mikhail explained. "USC, UCLA, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida State, Texas A&M, Washington, Arkansas, Alabama, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Ohio State and Tennessee are the schools who have been doing the best job with me. The next few months will be about really digging deeper into each school.”
Mikhail is adamant right now that a decision is not imminent. His plan is to make a commitment around the summer before his senior season. Notre Dame has a lot of time but will need to continue putting in the effort on the California star, especially if it wants to hold off the West Coast teams like USC and UCLA.
Mikhail is considered a consensus four-star and top 100 recruit on every major recruiting platform. On On3, he is considered as the No. 50 overall player and the No. 4 linebacker in the 2025 recruiting class. They also rank him as the No. 6 player in the state of California in the cycle.
In ten games, the 6-3, 210-pound linebacker has been an absolute menace for Bonita. He led the team with 112 total tackles and 13 tackles for loss. Mikhail also registered three sacks, an interception, three forced fumbles and four pass breakups.
