Notre Dame Safety Signee Adon Shuler Showing Out For New Jersey And The 2023 Class

Quietly Notre Dame safety signee Adon Shuler has had a very good week at the All-American Bowl

A part of arguably the best recruiting class in recent memory for the University of Notre Dame in 2023, safety signee Adon Shuler has somehow gone under the radar by most fans. Shuler has been out in San Antonio for the All-American Bowl this week, showcasing just how talented of a player he is.

The New Jersey standout is busy testing his skills against the nations elite, including facing off against an incredibly gifted wide receiver group for the East squad everyday in practice. Shuler came out to Texas with a mission in mind. He wanted to put on for his home state and prove just how good he is.

“I just want to show that New Jersey guys can play at a high level,” Shuler said. “We play against some of the top talent in the country so really my goal is to put on for Jersey.”

Of course, Shuler understands how blessed he is. He is proving everyday that he belongs amongst this talented group, and continues to stack strong days or practices. There is no question that Shuler belongs.

“I am definitely enjoying the process,” Shuler explained. “It is definitely a humbling experience. We get a chance to be around some of the best players in the class, some of the best athletes in the country. Being able to compete with them at a high level is definitely a great opportunity.”

Competition is nothing new to Shuler. You would be hard pressed to find a harder worker in the 2023 recruiting class and this week is just another chance for him to get better. The competition level is just allowing him to take his game to the next level.

“Iron sharpens iron,” he said. “We have been going at it and making each other better because we want to beat the West. We have really just been going back and forth trying to get an edge.”

On top of being able to compete and experience everything that comes with being a member of the All-American Bowl, Shuler has also been able to spend some time with the other Notre Dame signees who are participating. The Irish class has five total participants, including Shuler, defensive end Brenan Vernon, linebacker Drayk Bowen, offensive lineman Sullivan Absher and cornerback Micah Bell.

The future of Notre Dame football has had a chance to bond together. That has been a huge bonus for Shuler.

“You know, it is good,” Shuler said. “It is almost like a school visit but just at a different spot. Being able to bond and meet with them is really cool.”

The All-American Bowl is set for Saturday and the East squad continues to prepare accordingly. Shuler has become an important member of the squad and is ready to put on a show when the lights shine brightest.
