When recruits get on campus, it can be a game changer for Notre Dame. While they will be hosting a long list of talented recruits for their home battle against Ohio State, the are several 2025 recruits will be in attendance in other games around college football this weekend.

Here are some visitors to know. There could be serious implications on 2025 recruiting for Notre Dame depending how this weekend goes for a few of the top programs in college football.

#24 IOWA AT #7 PENN STATE

Despite a long list of big time games this week, Penn State has managed to put together a tremendous visitor list for their home matchup against Iowa. This game has by far the most Notre Dame targets of any other program in college football. Here is who is expected on campus.

WR Quincy Porter - Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic

You would be hard pressed to find a more talented wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class than Porter. The 6-3, 190-pound pass catcher is very talented and has visited Notre Dame this past offseason. Porter says all the right things but there is very little traction right now.

TE Ryan Ghea - Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton

At one time, Ghea was incredibly high on Notre Dame. During this offseason, he visited South Bend on back-to-back weekends. Once Nate Roberts committed to the Irish, momentum was lost. Even after Roberts decommitted, no traction was regained. Funny enough, Roberts will also be on campus at Penn State this weekend.

OT Rowan Byrne - New Rochelle (N.Y.) Iona Prep

Byrne had been high on Notre Dame for some time. He was originally slated to visit South Bend this weekend for their matchup against Ohio State but Will now travel to Happy Valley. The reason for that change is a bit unknown.

DL Trent Wilson - Upper Marlboro (Md.) Dr. Henry Wise

Wilson has gravitated more towards the SEC schools since he blew up on the recruiting trail. Notre Dame is a school that he has demonstrated very little interest in seeing.

LB Brett Clatterbaugh - Culpeper (Va.) Eastern View

Clatterbaugh has visited Notre Dame in the past but there has been a break in momentum. He continues to speak very highly of the program but has not scheduled a return visit. Until he does, it’s hard to imagine that the fit will make sense.

CB Charles Bell - Oakdale (Conn.) St. Thomas More

Notre Dame offered Bell this offseason when he camped at the school. Both sides have remained in contact since then. That relationship appears to be developing well so far.

CB Dorian Brew - Conroe (Texas) High School

Early on in this recruitment, things were in a great place between Brew and Notre Dame. That was before Ohio State offered. Once they did, things got a lot more difficult. Notre Dame is firmly in the top group but is working from the back to get back into it.

CB Tariq Hayer - Washington (D.C.) St. John’s

Hayer has praised Notre Dame very recently and has said he plans to take an official visit down the road. He has been to campus once but getting him back would be massive. In a past interview with Irish Breakdown, Hayer even listed Notre Dame as one of his top schools.

CB Alex Graham - Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

Notre Dame seemed to get off to a good start with Graham when he went to school in Detroit, Michigan. Things got very quiet after he made the transfer down to IMG Academy.

S Kaino Winston - Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga

Winston was offered by the Irish back in May. Penn State has been the front runner for the Gonzaga star for sometime. Unfortunately Notre Dame has not been able to capture Winston’s attention to date.

CB Elbert Hill (2026) - Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban

Hill was offered by the Irish this offseason when he camped at Notre Dame. That offer was extremely well received by the Ohio native. The 2026 standout is worth keeping an eye on.

#4 FLORIDA STATE AT CLEMSON

Florida State got off to a fast start this season, dismantling LSU in the opener. They now hope to do the same against Clemson on the road. Clemson is set to host an impressive list of 2025 recruits, several that the Irish staff is interested in.

OT David Sanders Jr. - Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School

Once upon a time, Sanders was very outspoken to try and receive an offer from Notre Dame. Once he did, there was an anticipation that they would be some sort of relationship built. That just hasn’t happened.

DL Elijah Griffin - Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep

Notre Dame would love to gain momentum with Griffin, as would every major program in college football. Griffin has a strong claim as the top overall player in the 2025 recruiting class. He will be an almost impossible pull from the Southeast.

DE London Merritt - Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy

The teammates of Notre Dame legacy Jerome Bettis Jr., Merritt is a really appealing pass rusher with a tremendous power profile. He has spoken highly of Notre Dame in the past. It Bettis commits to the Irish, you can bet he will recruit his teammate very hard.

DE Ari Watford - Norfolk (Va.) Maury

Watford is a twitched up pass rusher with all the potential in the world. He hasn’t made the trip to Notre Dame yet but there has been contact between both sides. Notre Dame doesn’t have much traction currently.

S Jordan Young - Monroe (N.C.) High School

There might not be a better playmaker of any safety in the 2025 class than Young, who visited Notre Dame for the first time this offseason. By all accounts, the visit went well and Notre Dame has kept close contact with Young. They will need to get him on campus again to have a realistic chance.

ARKANSAS AT #12 LSU

It is a small visitor list for LSU’s matchup against the University of Arkansas. It will mostly be committed players in the 2024 class with a couple intriguing targets mixed in. There is, however, one talented wide receiver on Notre Dame’s board expected to make the trip.

WR Koby Howard - Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Western

Howard was once a All-World freshman pass catcher who was attracting the attention of top programs across college football. Then Howard suffered a leg injury that put his future on momentary hold. Notre Dame remained on him even through the injury. The staff is working to hopefully get him back on campus this season.
