Notre Dame has picked up a massive commitment with Waukesha (Wis.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Owen Strebig pledging to the Fighting Irish. It's massive in that Notre Dame landed one of the best offensive lineman in the country, and he's also massive, with the Wisconsin native checking in at 6-8 and 295 pounds.

Notre Dame beat out Florida State, USC, Miami (Fla.) and Wisconsin to land the talented offensive tackle.

Strebig has been a top target for Notre Dame for months, and the Irish were considered his leader for quite some time. Landing Strebig is important for Notre Dame, but the commitment didn't come as a surprise. That's a credit to the strong recruiting job done by offensive line coach Joe Rudolph and the rest of the Irish staff.

The Catholic Memorial left tackle shows an impressive blend of elite size, strength potential and athleticism. As good as he is right now, Strebig still has plenty of room to develop his game and grow his already massive body. He has the tools to become a strong all-around (run blocking, pass blocking) tackle at the next level and it's easy to see why the Irish staff targeted him very early on.

Landing Strebig gives Notre Dame two offensive linemen in the class, with the Wisconsin standout joining Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary offensive tackle Will Black, who committed to the Irish in December. Strebig is listed at 6-8 and 295 pounds while Black is listed at 6-7 and 295 pounds, giving Notre Dame a massive duo to build its 2025 line class around.

Strebig is ranked as the nation's No. 66 overall player and No. 6 offensive tackle in the country according to Rivals. He's also ranked as the top player in Wisconsin by Rivals and ESPN.

Strebig joins a 2025 recruiting class that also includes elite quarterback Deuce Knight, running backs Daniel Anderson and Justin Thurman, tight end James Flanigan, defensive tackle Davion Dixon, defensive end Christopher Burgess Jr., defensive end Joseph Reiff, hybrid defender Dominik Hulak, linebacker Josiah Kia, cornerback Cree Thomas, and safeties Ivan Taylor and Ethan Long

The massive offensive tackle also earned offers from Michigan, Florida, Penn State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, UCLA, Iowa, Missouri, Stanford, Arkansas, Michigan State, Kentucky, Purdue, Duke, Kansas, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, Northwestern and Rutgers.

Notre Dame already had the No. 1 ranked 2025 recruiting class according to Rivals and 247Sports, and this clearly puts some distance between the Irish and everyone else.
