Notre Dame has added a talented player to its 2025 class after landing a commitment from Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit running back Justin Thurman. The 6-0, 180-pound speedster is the third player to commit to the Irish in the 2025 class, joining defensive tackle Davion Dixon and tight end Nate Roberts.

Success in Florida hasn't been easy to come by for Notre Dame in recent seasons, but adding Thurman gives the Irish staff a pair of early Florida commitments in the 2025 class.

Landing Thurman also continues Notre Dame excellent running back recruiting under position coach Deland McCullough. He follows an outstanding two-man class of Kedren Young and Aneyas Williams in the 2024 class, and dynamic back Jeremiyah Love in the 2023 class.

Thurman is an intriguing player. He spent the 2022 season as a two-player that got work at running back, cornerback and he returned kicks. He was the second back for Jesuit, backing up senior Joquez Smith, who signed with Temple. With Smith now headed to college, Thurman is slated to become the team's top back.

A standout track performer at Jesuit, Thurman adds big time speed to the Irish class. He ran a personal best 10.84 in the 100-meter dash this spring, and that speed shows up on the field. Thurman has flashed big time home run ability as both a running back and returner.

Thurman is ranked as a four-star recruit and the nation's No. 229 overall player in the country according to 247Sports. He also earned a 4.0-star grade and a Top 200 caliber ranking on the Irish Breakdown board.

The Jesuit athlete earned scholarship offers from Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Iowa, NC State, Louisville, Kansas State, UCF, Indiana, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Kansas and Rutgers.
