Standout 2024 Safety Davis Andrews Could "Fit In And Thrive" With Notre Dame

Notre Dame is hosting a number of talented safeties in June, and one of the top targets on the board is American Fork (Utah) High School star Davis Andrews. Note Dame desperately needs to finish the 2024 safety class off on a strong note, and Andrews is a player the staff definitely wants on board.
Fresh off of a fantastic visit during the 2023 Blue-Gold Game, this official visit will be a chance for Notre Dame to seal the deal with the Utah native. This particular trip is really going to show Andrews if South Bend is a place he can see himself long term.
"What I'm looking most forward to is seeing if Notre Dame is somewhere I can move away too and be comfortable and be able to live there because I've never lived out of Utah,” Andrews told Irish Breakdown. "I need to see if it’s somewhere I can live and the culture fits me.”
That comfort is going to be key. There is little question just how much the Notre Dame staff wants Andrews in the class. They have been incredibly consistent, and persistent, in their message.
"My relationship is great with the Notre Dame coaches,” Andrews explained. “With Coach (Chris) O’Leary and (Marcus) Freeman, their message to me is literally there’s no other place that wants me more and there’s no better place for me other than Notre Dame.”
As for timelines, Andrews has always been super consistent. This isn’t something that he wants to drag on too long. Notre Dame seems to be a school that will be in it until the end, for a host of reasons.
"I want to make my decision after all my officials and before my senior season,” he said. “Notre Dame is extremely high on my list and a really notable contender for me. They will be hard to walk away from.
“I think I would fit in great,” Andrews continued. "They recruit kids that I feel are like me, well-put together kids that have standards and I think the culture of Freeman’s team and kids represents that and speaks for itself. I think it’s a place that I could fit in and thrive in.”
Andrews announced his final six schools a few weeks ago, which included Notre Dame. It also included Tennessee, UCLA, Utah, BYU and Stanford. This official to Notre Dame is going to be the last chance to show Andrews this is the place to be.
The offer list is continuing to expand quickly with so much recruiting attention coming Andrews’ way. Some of the notable programs who have offered so far include the Irish, Tennessee, UCLA, Utah, Stanford, Arizona, Colorado, Washington State, Northwestern, Cal and BYU among others.
The 6-2, 190-pound athlete was a playmaker on the back end of the defense for American Fork. In twelve games, he recorded 45 total tackles, intercepted four passes, had three forced fumbles and recovered another.
