Talented Safety Nicholas Reddish Is Looking Forward To His Notre Dame Visit

Notre Dame is hosting North Carolina safety Nicholas Reddish for a visit this week

Back in February, Notre Dame had stopped in Charlotte (N.C.) Independence to check in on 2026 safety Nicholas Reddish. He is a talented defensive back that the school has been doing their homework on for some time now, eventually securing an offer during their Pot of Gold event in St. Patrick’s Day.

Reddish will be making his first trip to South Bend this weekend for the Blue-Gold Game. It’s a visit he has been looking forward, hoping to get a deep look into what makes Notre Dame special.

"The early relationship with Notre Dame has been great,” Reddish told Irish Breakdown. "I’m already connecting with people down there and hope to get to know more people on the trip. "I’m excited for the trip. I can’t wait to see the energy of the team and the atmosphere. I heard great things about Notre Dame and am ready to experience it.”

The North Carolina standout has begun to gain more and more traction from a recruiting perspective. Reddish has been hearing from several prominent programs and is continuing to grow relationships with various coaches.

"Recruiting has been great overall,” he said. "I'm meeting and talking to great people. Virginia Tech and Wake Forest have definitely been ones to stand out so far. I can’t wait to visit more schools and make connections.”

Notre Dame has a chance to impress Reddish, who is excited to experience everything this weekend. He is a part of a deep and talented safety board, with a ton of prominent performers on it already. The Irish staff has been making a bigger impact on the recruiting trail, especially in the 2024 class. Reddish could be a part of that momentum continuing in 2026.

Reddish put together a fantastic sophomore campaign for the Independence Patriots. He finished the year with 95 total tackles, four interceptions and 10 pass breakups. Reddish also recorded three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.

The 5-11, 185-pound safety currently holds offers from the Irish, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, UConn, Liberty, James Madison, ECU, Troy and Charlotte. Judging by his play as a sophomore, that list should blow up quickly. Reddish is also a fantastic baseball player for Independence as well.
