Cornerback Leonard Moore Commits To Notre Dame

Texas cornerback Leonard Moore has committed to Notre Dame, joining a highly ranked 2024 class

Notre Dame has picked up an important commitment today with Round Rock (Texas) High School cornerback Leonard Moore pledging to the Fighting Irish.

Things moved quickly with Moore, who received an offer from Notre Dame a little over a week ago. He immediately set up a visit to South Bend and pledged to the Irish staff during that trip. Today, Moore has made that decision public.

The 6-2, 175-pound cornerback is an underrated prospect the Notre Dame coaching staff is very high on. His combination of length, football IQ and production is something the staff wanted to add to the class. Notre Dame took Moore over other more highly ranked cornerbacks, which shows how much the Irish staff likes his upside moving forward.

Moore has racked up 71 tackles, 7 interceptions and 20 passes defensed the last two seasons for the Dragons. 

Notre Dame added Moore to a class that already had Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller corner Karson Hobbs. He is also joined in the class by quarterback CJ Carr, running back Aneyas Williams, wide receiver Cam Williams, tight end Jack Larsen, offensive lineman Peter Jones and defensive lineman Owen Wafle. 

Moore earned offers from the Irish, Oregon, TCU, Missouri, Kansas State, Duke, Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado, Washington State, California, Houston and Vanderbilt.

Landing Moore moves Notre Dame up to No. 2 in the national rankings for the 2024 class, with the Irish trailing only Georgia.
