What They Are Saying: 2025 Recruits Talk About Notre Dame Pot Of Gold Push

Several key 2025 Notre Dame targets give opinions on the recent Pot of Gold event

The Pot of Gold came and went for the Notre Dame program, extending offers to nearly 90 top players in the 2025 recruiting class. Over the last couple of years, the event has quickly become one of the more anticipated days for the Irish staff.

The St. Patrick’s Day flare allows them to really tap into the fun side of recruiting. The uniqueness is something that really lets the program shine through and create added buzz and excitement.

When you check in with several of the players who were offered, they all reiterated their admiration for the day. To say it was a hit would be a massive understatement.

Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy College Prep cornerback Cree Thomas:

“I think that the Notre Dame Pot of Gold day event is super cool. It’s fun to see all the great athletes receiving offers from the fighting Irish on St Patrick's day!”

Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley defensive end Bryce Davis:

“I thought it was really cool since they are the Irish and they show the class of 2025 love on the holiday. I’m just glad I was able to be apart of it”

Red Oak (Texas) HS wide receiver Taz Williams:

“It was something different. I was glad to be able to be a part of something so special.”

Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods linebacker Justin Hill:

“I really liked the Pot of Gold event. It is super unique. I was just so eager for the 17th to come so that would be the only reason it was tough to wait.”

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei cornerback Chuck McDonald III:

“The Pot of Gold offer event really surprised me because I had never seen a school do this before. It was really cool and I really liked it.”

Washington (Okla.) HS tight end Nate Roberts:

“I really like The Pot of Gold approach. It has been fun, and I’m really glad that I get to be a part of it.”

Las Vegas (Nev.) Desert Pines linebacker Landon McComber:

“I think the Pot of Gold day is pretty unique. It makes sense since they are the Fighting Irish and it is a nice way to make other recruits feel special within their program.”

Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair defensive end Landon Rink:

“I think the event is really cool. It is something that I am very glad to be a part of.”

Cleveland (Ohio) Shaker Heights safety Trey McNutt:

“I never knew about the Pot of Gold until recently. I think that it is really dope to highlight all of the 2025 recruits.”

Dallas (Texas) Skyline linebacker Elijah Barnes:

“I think the Pot of Gold thing is great. It just shows how many people get the offer around the country and appreciate how rare it is. Not many get that type of opportunity.”

Omaha (Neb.) Westside linebacker Christian Jones:

“It’s a really, really cool thing. I knew the offer was coming and it didn’t matter. The Pot of Gold is really a great event to highlight a lot of good players.”
