Ohio State's LeBron James? Lakers Superstar Gets Second Buckeyes Jersey
When LeBron James changes numbers, so does his merchandise.
Now, fans can add a No. 6 Buckeyes jersey to their shopping cart, courtesy of Fanatics. The newly printed white jersey features a red accent color on the wording and number, with Ohio State across the front.
This is not the first time that the current Lakers star has been featured on Buckeye memorabilia, however.
Back in 2019, Ohio State released what they called an “alumni” jersey for James that had No. 23 on it from his days with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Though the superstar never went to OSU, his allegiance remains with the team — even stating that he would have gone if he had chosen the college route before declaring for the NBA draft.
The release is also being speculated across social media to be related to the prospective commitment of James’ son, Bronny. The 6’2” college prospect, who was just selected to the McDonald’s All-American Game, officially listed the Buckeyes among his top three destinations for next season.
Ohio State’s first release of James’ jersey was a limited edition, so its second iteration will allow fans another opportunity at repping the Ohio native during the 2022-23 season. Jersey sales are now available on Fanatics, starting at $119.99 in most sizes.
