Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball coach Chris Holtmann will speak to the media Tuesday afternoon ahead of this weekend's exhibition game against the Dayton Flyers.

Holtmann and the Buckeyes travel south to University of Dayton Arena to battle the Flyers at 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 22.

This unofficial contest (which will not count toward either team's regular-season record) will be the first time Ohio State takes the floor this season. However, Holtmann's Buckeyes still have plenty to prove in this event after finishing last year with a below-500 clip of 16-19.

The Flyers, on the other hand, finished last year 22-12 overall and 12-6 in Atlantic 10 Conference action. Dayton was near perfection at home as well, boasting an almost 88 percent winning percentage when playing on their home floor.

In another impressive feat, Dayton men's basketball announced Friday their entire supply of tickets for the 2023-24 season is sold out. This is the third year in a row in which the Flyers have filled every game in University of Dayton Arena before the season's opening tip-off.

Sunday's battle with the Flyers is not the first time Ohio State has tipped off their season with an exhibition game. The Buckeyes opened last year with a showcase against the Chaminade Silverswords, which they won easily, 101-57.

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Dayton Flyers tip off at 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 22 at University of Dayton Arena. Coverage of the game will air over the Ohio State Sports Network from Learfield.
