MARCH 20 MR. BASKETBALL Ohio State Buckeyes commit Colin White was named Mr. Basketball for the state of Ohio on Wednesday, making him the 12th Bucks signee to take home the award. 

White has averaged 24.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.6 steals per game while leading his team to the Ohio State Final Four for the fourth straight season. 

New Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler commented on White winning the award, congratulating his future guard. 

"Big time honor for a big time player," Diebler said on X. "A proven winner!!!! Congratulations @ColinWhite21!"

DEC 11 McMAHON NAMED TO HONOR ROLL On Monday, the Big Ten named its weekly awards. For the first time in her career, Ohio State Women's Basketball sophomore forward Cotie McMahon was named to the Big Ten honor roll after earning six Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors last year.

The Centerville, Ohio native led the team to a pair of wins against Ohio and No. 25 Penn State. McMahon scored an average of 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and two steals per contest and shot 17-of-27 from the field.

NOV 8 WHITE AND MOBLEY OFFICIAL The Ohio State Buckeyes have officially signed a pair of 2024 commits, with Juni Mobley and Colin White both inking their signatures on Monday.

Mobley, a four-star guard, is the No. 1 prospect in the state of Utah and the No. 43 player nationally. 

Mobley originally committed to the Buckeyes in October of 2022.

White, an Ottawa, OH native, is a three-star prospect and ranks as the No. 5 player in Ohio and No. 117 player nationally.

OCT 1 JAMES VISITING COLUMBUS Another son of LeBron James is interested in the Ohio State Buckeyes. 

This time, it is four-star guard Bryce James, the youngest of James' sons. 

And according to Joe Tipton, James will be taking an unofficial visit to Ohio State next weekend. 

James' only official offer is from Duquesne, but he is considered a four-star recruit by On3, ESPN and Rivals.com.

LeBron, meanwhile, has hinted at the idea of playing in the NBA long enough to see the court with both Bronny and Bryce. 

“I like to throw things out in the airwaves, but I’m not one to [say] what’s going to happen in the next two to three years,” LeBron told Sports Illustrated in August. “I am a visionary, but I’m also a guy that lives in the moment. I’d definitely be looking at who got first-round picks in 2024, 2025, and things of that nature; 2026, ’27. I pay attention to that type of stuff.” 

“I feel like I could play for quite a while. So it’s all up to the body, but more importantly, my mind. If my mind can stay sharp and fresh and motivated, then the sky’s not even the limit for me. I can go beyond that. But we shall see.”

The Buckeyes have been in search for a top-level skilled big since the Jared Sullinger days and four-star center Jesse McCulloch will potentially look to be the next great five-man to come to Columbus.

The No. 1 player in the state of Ohio narrowed down his list of 18 offers down to eight schools Friday: Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Xavier and Kent State.

The Cleveland native stands just 6-9, weighing 190 pounds, so adding weight and muscle will be a priority if McCulloch wants to match up with the physical big men of the Big Ten.

If McCulloch commits to the Buckeyes, he would be projected to compete with Felix Okpara and class of 2023 center Austin Parks, barring any transfers or departures for the professional ranks.
