Arrest Warrant Issued for Ex Ohio State LB Darron Lee
Former Ohio State Buckeyes standout linebacker Darron Lee was arrested on charges of domestic violence and assault in April in Dublin, Ohio, according to Franklin County Municipal Court records.
And now, an arrest warrant has been issued for Lee after he failed to appear in Franklin County, Ohio court to face those charges.
The alleged victims have since been reported to be both his mother and the mother of his son. Lee has been accused of punching his mother multiple times in the head, shoving her into a wall, and throwing her to the ground.
Lee was also accused by the mother of his son of throwing a cell phone at her head during an incident in 2022.
He has since been charged with two counts of misdemeanor domestic violence and two counts of misdemeanor assault.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning and his bond is set at $20,000.
According to the report from the Columbus Dispatch, one group of those charges stems from a separate incident on October 17 of last year, in which Lee was accused of assaulting the mother of his child.
Lee, who was a starter for the Buckeyes' 2014 national championship team, was a first-round draft pick of the New York Jets in 2016.
He has not played in an NFL game since 2020 but was a member of the Raiders practice squad in 2021.
