Defense Helps Ohio State Buckeyes Survive vs. Wisconsin Badgers
The Ohio State Buckeyes remained undefeated on Saturday night, taking down the Wisconsin Badgers 24-10 at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
And once again, the Buckeyes were led by a stout defensive effort behind star linebacker Tommy Eichenberg and their stellar defensive line.
Throughout the first half of action, things were looking a bit dicey for the Buckeyes, who managed just one touchdown in the first half after two Kyle McCord turnovers.
However, thanks to two touchdowns from wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., as well as an explosive second half from running back TreVeyon Henderson in his return from injury, the Buckeyes were able to pull away from the Badgers.
Harrison Jr. was once again the star of the show offensively for Ohio State, catching six passes for 123 yards and the two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score in the third quarter that broke the tie.
Henderson, meanwhile, had missed the previous three games with an undisclosed injury. However, on Saturday night, he looked as healthy as ever, rushing 24 times for 162 yards and a touchdown of his own.
He also added four catches 45 yards.
Defensively, the Buckeyes were their typical dominant selves, holding the Badgers to just 259 yards of total offense, including just 94 total rushing yards on 25 carries as a team.
Through the air, the Buckeyes held Wisconsin QB Braeden Locke to just 165 yards on 18 of 39 passing.
With the win now secured, the Buckeyes (8-0) will turn their attention toward a road game at Rutgers in New Jersey next weekend.
The Buckeyes are 9-0 against the Scarlet Knights all time.
