ESPN's College GameDay Heading to Columbus for Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Penn State Nittany Lions
The Ohio State Buckeyes will once again be at the center of the college football spotlight when they host the Penn State Nittany Lions at Ohio Stadium on Oct. 21.
ESPN's College Gameday has selected the matchup as its destination next Saturday, joining FOX's Big Noon Kickoff in Columbus.
No. 3 Ohio State (6-0) joined other the top 10 teams that had blowout wins Saturday, dispensing of Purdue 41-7 in West Lafayette.
Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions dominated UMASS 63-0 in Happy Valley, while Ohio State's arch-rival and fellow Big Ten East foe No. 2 Michigan won 52-7 over Indiana.
Elsewhere in the Top 10, No. 4 Florida State took care of business against Syracuse 41-3, while No. 10 USC was blown out by No. 11 Notre Dame 48-20, No. 1 Georgia defeated Syracuse 37-20, and No. 6 Washington narrowly escaped vs. Oregon in a 36-33 nail biter.
The Buckeyes now head back home to Columbus, where they will face Penn State in a critical Big Ten East Matchup.
In recent years, Ohio State has had the edge in the matchup in a big way, winning each of the last six matchups between the two teams.
The Buckeyes have also won 14 of the last 17 games in the series and are 23-14 overall vs. the Nittany Lions since 1912.
In the last matchup in Columbus, the No. 5 Buckeyes pulled away of No. 20 Penn State in the fourth quarter, behind 305 yards through the air from C.J. Stroud, and 152 yards and a score on 28 carries from TreVeyon Henderson.
Kickoff between the Bucks and Nittany Lions is set for 12 p.m. ET.
