Five-Star 2025 CB Devin Sanchez Commits to Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes earned a massive commitment from 5-star 2025 cornerback Devin Sanchez on Saturday.
In this story:

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been well represented at the 2024 All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

And while 2024 five-star receiver and Buckeyes signee Jeremiah Smith stole the headlines early with a touchdown catch in the first half, there was also a 2025 player to make some noise as well.

We are speaking, of course, about five-star North Shore (Houston, TX) cornerback Devin Sanchez, who announced his commitment to the Buckeyes during halftime on Saturday.

Devin-Sanchez

Sanchez, listed at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds or so, sports more than 30 scholarship offers to his name, and ranks as the No. 2 player in Texas, the No. 2 corner in the nation, and the No. 6 player overall per the On3 Industry ranking. 247 Sports and Rivals also both have him listed as the No. 1 overall corner in the nation.

OSU jumped in the mix back in January, thanks in large part to his relationship with the Buckeyes secondary and cornerbacks coach, Tim Walton.

"I feel like coach Walton with all the experience he has being in the league stands out," Sanchez told On3 in November. "Being a DC coaching guys like Jalen Ramsey, Tyson Campbell, I think he can take my game to the next level."

Sanchez was named Houston Chronicle Newcomer of the Year in 2022 in tying for the North Shore team lead with four interceptions while adding a staggering 18 pass breakups en route to the state championship game.

Also a standout on the track, Sanchez has a 10.8 100-meter dash time and 49.45 400-meter dash time to his name this spring while running the anchor leg on multiple relay teams for the program.
