Joel Klatt Thinks Ohio State Will 'Make a Run' At a National Title in 2024

"Ohio State is primed to make a run," FOX analyst Joel Klatt said during his show on Tuesday, going on to add he did not expect the Buckeyes to return so many starters.

The Ohio State Buckeyes should be considered the favorites to win the 2024 National Championship, at least that's what Joel Klatt believes.

The FOX analyst said he was shocked by the number of Buckeyes who elected to return for the coming season during his radio show on Tuesday.

"I did not see this coming," Klatt said. "They're basically all coming back...Ohio State is primed to make a run."

Since late December several key Ohio State players on both sides of the ball have announced they would return to the team rather than declare for the NFL Draft. Buckeyes receiver Emeka Egbuka, defensive edge J.T. Tuimoloau, and cornerback Denzel Burke are just some of the notable names who will be running it back next year.

The Buckeyes have also been extremely active in the transfer portal, adding some much-needed experience to two important positions. Klatt mentioned two of these additions during his show, one of whom he says will pair nicely with Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson.

"They went into the portal and got Will Howard...he was the Kansas State quarterback that won a Big 12 championship over TCU," Klatt said. "They get the best running back in the SEC: Quinshon Judkins. Now he's going to split carries with TreVeyon Henderson? That's immediately the best backfield in America."

Two words have served as a common theme amongst the announcements of Ohio State's returning players.

There is a feeling (especially amongst the Buckeyes' rising seniors) that there is "unfinished business" left to settle before they begin their professional careers.

Ohio State has a chance to do that next fall and should be among the favorites to win the Big Ten alongside Michigan, and newcomers such as Oregon.
