LeBron James Gifts Ohio State Buckeyes Custom Cleats For Penn State Nittany Lions Matchup

Ahead of a top 10 matchup with the Penn State Nittany Lions, LeBron James is giving the Ohio State Buckeyes a special gift.

Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James gifted the Ohio State football team custom cleats Thursday for its undefeated bout against No. 7 Penn State Saturday.

The cleats are in the style of the Lebron 4 “Graffiti” basketball shoes, which were released Sept. 19. The original shoes have the words “Fearless” and “Winning” jumbled together in a mix of designs on the side.

These cleats have distinct Ohio State references, including “West Lane,” “O-H,” “Brutus,” “Horseshoe” and “Woody Hayes.”

James also gifted the Buckeyes custom cleats in their final regular season game against Michigan in 2022.

James has continuously shown support for Ohio State, including attending multiple Buckeye football games — his most recent being the Notre Dame game last season.

James’ youngest son Bryce James attended Ohio State’s 37-17 win over Maryland Oct. 7. He had an unofficial visit with the Buckeyes the same weekend.

Shortly thereafter, Ohio State men’s basketball coach Chris Holtmann extended an offer to James' son to play for the Buckeyes when he graduates in 2025.

Bryce James visited the University of Southern California Thursday night, where his older brother Bronny James plays.

The Buckeyes can hope they get some of LeBron James’ championship-winning blood with the cleats moving forward. With a battle with the No. 1 defense in the country up on the slate, Ohio State will need all the help they can get.

Ohio State and Penn State kick off from Columbus at noon Saturday. The game will be broadcast on FOX.
