Rise and shine, Buckeye Nation; Ohio State Buckeyes football is back!

The No. 4 Buckeyes host the Maryland Terrapins at noon on Saturday, October 7 from inside Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. This contest will mark the first time in two weeks that Ohio State has played in their home venue, after playing on the road against Notre Dame and spending last week off with a bye.

Ohio State sits as 19.5-point favorites against the unranked Terrapins entering the game, according to SI Sportsbook.

Ohio State comes into Saturday's contest with a perfect overall record of 4-0, having beaten Indiana (23-3), Youngstown State (35-7), Western Kentucky (63-10) and Notre Dame (17-14) so far this season. Those spreads may appear inconsistent on paper, but the Buckeyes have looked increasingly more confident in each game, both on offense and defense.

The Buckeyes hold an undefeated record against the Terrapins in the all-time series, having one each of the eight previous matchups between these two schools. The largest margin of victory for Ohio State is 59 points, coming from a 62-3 win on November 12, 2016 in College Park, Maryland.

The last time Ohio State and Maryland squared off on the gridiron was November 19, 2022 at the Terrapins' home venue, SECU Stadium. The Buckeyes emerged on top, winning 43-30 after four quarters of play.

The weather at gametime is set to be the coldest of the season for Ohio State. It is projected to be 55-degrees Fahrenheit at noon, and is not expected to rise higher than 58 through the course of the contest. There is a chance of rain around 2 p.m. Eastern Time.
